The Shape of Yourself - MusicProjX

Today I was feeling pretty bummed about being a crappy leader. I've been in my feelings about how CCK has been going and really the team is waiting on me to step up and do some things. I get bent out of shape when things don't go exactly how I want them to go. That's where this song comes from. Lyrics are very rough. Bike Phone Mount - Repurposed 23-25C Tire Tube

I combined ideas from handlebar phone mounts and bag phone mounts. The key to this application working is the nature of rubber and that it has wonderful self adhering properties. When the phone is wrapped at the corners and over bottom of the top tube you can stuff the excess tubing after the wrap and that will adhere to the tubing underneath, given that there is sufficient pressure to hold it all together. Sufficient pressure is attained if you wrap the phone while applying and maintaining a bit of tension throughout the wrapping procedure. Because the brake cable was constricted and therefore brakes were of limited operability, I had to house the exposed brake cable with a plastic straw, which I cut length wise down the middle and covered in bike handlebar tape. There was still some constriction to the brake cable but they were quite operable. This phone mount system was necessary because it seems most top tube bag mounts do not fit larger phones such as my LG Stylo 5. Ad...

Project Storage Clipboard - repurposed kitty litter container

I was disappointed when I went to Home Depot today to pick up some things to find a cool aluminum storage clipboard was $25. I guess that I think they're worth the cost: they are beautiful and a especially wonderful for projects. But I didn't have the money, what with it being after Christmas and all. So I decided, since I had to have something, seeing as I had an Arduino project that was migrating upstairs and down to not be in vicinity of my sleeping child, I would make one from something around the house. Call it Pack of the Litter 1.0. Of course, the best would be to reuse an old briefcase, the original project management device. I didn't have one. And they don't work as well with binder clips, with which I have a special fascination. And doesn't the binder clip make such a fancy pen holder? The kitty litter lid, a fancy screw tray?!

NagBot Prototype - Arduino

It wasn't actually a grand success, but I should consider it a breakthrough. Inspired by my daughter's potty watch (goes off every 30 min) and by my wife's need to have things done around the house, I came up with the NagBot: a device that sends an audible reminder every 30 min. I used Arduino breadboard setup with a sound module I got on Amazon for $3. The idea was to have the play button trigger the recorded audio (NagByte) and also a 30 min repeating loop. I was able to get the loop up to 3 min, and sometimes the button play was cutoff by the nature of the looping mechanism. But I did demo that you can control an external device with an Arduino. I've included in a link files for the codes I used, which contain the tech specs for the greeting card sound module and other helpful forum links I found along the way. In the end I used if, else if running BlinkWithoutDelay, else if button pushed. Closeup of the wiring shows pin 9 (running loop) and 10 (control...

Arduino Blink ProjX

I'm both excited and feeling goofy this Christmas break. Excited to explore the world of electronics that I've desired for some time, and goofy at how proud I am of the super simple projects that I've prototyped with an arduino and breadboard. I had a Raspberry Pi in the past, but the way that I utilized that was mainly as a cheap CPU and for coding. Arduino seems to be much more aligned to making programmable electronics. Suits me fine! Thus far I've used the Elegoo Uno R3 (super starter kit; Amazon $30), which is a clone of the Arduino Uno (I think). It came with a set of tutorials and thus far I am up to buzzers (lessons 5&6). All of the tutorials can be gotten free @ elegoo.com/download. Here's a quick list of what I've made: Blink_morse_i_love_u - The board "L" led blinks "i love u" in Morse code. RGB_LED_USA - 2 codes: switches LED from red to white to blue in a loop. blends color from red to white to blue in a loo...

Homemade Christmas Card - Candlelight Heart Theme Template

Good for the budget and adding a personal touch, homemade Christmas cards are the way to go when you want to show folks you care about them, but don't have the time to personalize every detail of a gift. My wife got all of the teachers in our building really nice votive candles and we'll add this card to top it off. Christmas Card Template - Candlelight Heart Theme Found quote by searching candle quotes or something like that: https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/tag/light The pics were found by image search for Christmas hearts, Christmas candles, etc. A WutNow? Card is my trademark for these homemade cards.

You're The One I Dream Of - MusicProjX

Wrote you a song. :) You're the one I dream of. Smooch. Track recorded into phone (LG Stylo 5 using the Audio Recorder App) and shared to Google Drive. https://drive.google.com/file/d/129FBxOibNOywWhhHP1OWKQrJH37wLdAj/view?usp=drivesdk Lyrics w/ Chords were handwritten into the Stylo 5 memo+ app and shared as a PDF to Google Drive. https://drive.google.com/file/d/12AnI-QfUDuhNZt7JyXJPYo1X-WVCiDHX/view?usp=drivesdk The Drive folder also has a "spit drum" track for what the backing drums might sound like. Story behind the song: Jess and I went to a Christmas party at Ian and Leann's. Jess didn't want to leave to relieve our babysitter so I said I would go home and she could stay back. It was a day where we were not in sync, and so I thought of this song, how husbands and wives need time away from each other; may not even like each other sometimes, but love each other nonetheless.
