Prototyping Sliding Partition Panels

So, I'm thinking about space saving ideas as my family is moving into a 1 BR Crosstown Concourse apartment and will need to consider partitioning space for keeping sanity, quiet, etc. Whenever I get on these "consider all the possibility" kicks, I come up with an extraordinarily cheap solution. Cue: the cardboard box sliding door panel. Basically, spend $1.80 for a large box, open it up to be a panel; for the top track you can use cable, string, or a tension bar along with shower curtain hooks going through the top portion of the cardboard, for the bottom track get a few toy cars and some car track and voila! Track panel!!

To pretty it up, you'll want to use some kind of contact paper for the cardboard, and to firm things up you can glue two boxes together. But it fits the "dollar store elegance" criteria in that it's super accessible, super easy to do, and, of course, functional. I could see this as being a legit prototyping solution so that folks can see what solutions they really want in their space.

Plastic Origami Field Use Microtome

Plastic origami (plastic folder source) worked well to make specimen holder. 2 widths possible by either folding down on bottom to furthest stop or by placing bottom together in slit cut. Slide holder is filled with water and specimen is hand advanced with the slightest of nudges over the length of the specimen holder. Cuts are made on the other side of the glass slide, which holds the specimen holder in place and also acts to create a smooth cutting surface for better quality cut (using standard razor blade). The glass slide has a semi-ovular cut from the bottom using a steel wheel glass cutter (see video). This cut allows the specimen to advance beyond the glass so that the specimen can be cut. Cross sectional cuts of stem are picked up with needle nose forceps and placed on a slide. Extra water was absorbed with Kim wipes separating slides. Clear tape is used as cover slip to secure specimen to slide and then specimen are examined using Carson handheld microscope. ...

Modules on Virtual Memory | Making the Most of Ancestral Intelligence

This project was conceived to better understand the future of the internet, given Generative AI and the burgeoning population. This ultimately has to do with the increasingly abundant amount of information, and our increasing collective ability to remember a lot of what has happened, and recollect what has happened; all of us, Generative AI included. I would like that we amended our current semantics to Generative Ancestral Intelligence , as I think that this gives a clearer idea for the matter of discussion. Below find the modules for this iterative journey through the expanse of The Mind.  The Mind - A Human Faculty What is the mind and what can it do - planetarium What can the mind be trained to do and how do we approach the education of the mind - library and/or university Literacy & Symbolism Language Math Science Social Studies Web Literacy Integration and Creative Thinking The Internet - The Virtual Mind - The Computer Lab What are Data Storage and Documentation?
